Building Automation Technician

A Building Automation System (BAS) is a network designed to connect and automate certain functions inside a building. All of the building control systems, from lighting and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) to fire and security systems—all wired through one set of controls.

• Install, repair, test and or perform maintenance on DDC control, Card Access, CCTV and Intrusion Detection systems.
• Provide field customer service in a professional manner.
• Have strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills,
• Maintain vehicle, tools and employee safety policies.
• Have experience in conduit installation preferred.
• Maintain and complete paperwork directly related to projects.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of the tools and techniques used to maintain, diagnose problems, and repair HVAC/R and associated electrical systems
• Experience with programming, job start-up and checkout, and troubleshooting of building automation systems
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex control systems
• Extensive knowledge of multiple DDC systems
• Strong math skills
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
• Ability to work safely with hand and power tools
• Ability to work at heights and on ladders
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Proficient with computers
• Demonstrate an attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
• May be required to pass a drug test
