Job Description

A Color Correction Artist is responsible for adjusting and enhancing the colors, tones, and overall visual appearance of images or videos. They work in post-production and use specialized software and tools to achieve desired color grading and correction effects. Color Correction Artists collaborate with directors, cinematographers, photographers, or clients to ensure the desired artistic intent and mood are achieved through the manipulation of color.

  • Adjusting color balance, contrast, saturation, and other image attributes to achieve the desired look and feel.
  • Applying color correction techniques to enhance or modify the colors in images or videos.
  • Performing color grading to establish specific moods or visual storytelling elements.
  • Maintaining consistency of colors and visual style throughout a project or series.
  • Retouching and refining images or footage to ensure a polished and professional result.
  • Reviewing and incorporating feedback from clients or creative teams into the color correction process.
  • Staying updated with industry trends, software tools, and color grading techniques.
  • Collaborating with other post-production professionals, such as editors or visual effects artists, to ensure seamless integration of color correction with other aspects of the project.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, color-corrected files within project deadlines.
Skills Needed on the Job
  • Proficiency in color grading software, such as DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro.
  • Strong understanding of color theory, color correction techniques, and visual aesthetics.
