Pasadena is nestled at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains approximately 10 miles northeast of Los Angeles. It is renowned as a “World Class City” as well as what many refer to as “America’s City.” It is an ethnically and culturally rich city with a significantly diverse population. The City of Pasadena enjoys a full-service City Manager form of government. The Mayor is elected at large and a seven-member Council is elected by the district. This City is comprised of 16 departments that include the offices of City Manager, City Clerk, City Attorney, Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Police, Fire, Public Works, Transportation, Planning, Water & Power, Human Services & Recreation, Public Health, Library, and Housing. With an operating budget of just over $745 million, the City employs approximately 1,900 full-time employees
