About Jail Guitar Doors

Jail Guitar Doors (JGD-USA), a 501 c3 non-profit, seeks a more fair and just America.

We provide musical instruments and educational workshops to marginalized youth and people experiencing incarceration. We advance new solutions to diminish prison violence; support organizations that engage in policy reform; and provide programs designed to promote healing, socio-emotional development, and skills that support youth completing their education and the successful return to society of incarcerated individuals.

Since our founding in 2009, we have provided programming and donated hundreds of guitars to clients in over 167 federal and state prisons, youth camps, schools, and community sites.
